Aden Port Development Company management meeting , which was held on 08.16.2013 headed by the Minister of Transport Dr. Waed Abdullah Badheeb and the presence of the leaders of the company and the governorate
, discussed a number of issues and topics related to the activity of the Port of Aden and its performance improvements, particularly the implementation of marketing plans to attract shipping lines to return to transshipment business in Aden Container Terminal.
The first meeting held after the termination of a partnership operating agreement with DP World, which was attended by the Executive Chairman of YGAPC ,Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aden Port Development Company Captain / Sami Saeed Farea , the General Manager of the Company Eng./ Mohamed Abdul Wasa and the Governorate Deputy Mr. Ahmed Salmeen and a number of specialists, discussed the prospects of development for the company's work at Aden and Ma’alla Container Terminals in the next stage by providing all facilities to overcome the difficulties that would raise the port performance and improve its services.
The meeting reviewed the performance level of the port during the last period of this year, where it was noted the increase in the volume of container handling activity by 25% compared to the same period of last year, with an expected increase of containers volume during the coming period due to the return of some international shipping lines in using the Port of Aden and conduct its direct calls to the Terminal.
