Captain/ Sami Saeed Farea – Executive Chairman - Chairman of the Board of Directors has met on Sunday morning, March 23rd, 2014 Mr. " Wu Jinping " - Director General of the Chinese International Shipping Line “COSCO”
- West Asia - regional offices". The meeting discussed the activity of the shipping line and its wish to transfer containers to and from the Port of Aden again .
The two sides reviewed in the meeting, the services provided by the Port through Aden container Terminal , and facilities that can be enjoyed by international shipping lines , as well as the willingness of the Port to receive container ships of international shipping lines, such as the Chinese line "COSCO" which was using the Port of Aden previously.
The two sides reviewed the developments that will be take place in the Port of Aden in the near future through the implementation of a project to develop Aden Container Terminal and the expansion and deepening of the approach channel of the harbor by the Chinese company for development of ports (CHEC) and the generous funding from the Chinese government , as a result of the President of the Republic visit to the Peoples Republic of China and his meetings with the leadership , led by the President of China , and according to the confirmation of the Chinese government to provide all support and assistance to Yemen within the historical relations of cooperation between the two peoples that would serve the two countries.
The Chinese line confirmed his wish to use the Port of Aden and expand the container business for the local market as well as the transit business.
The meeting was attended by the Chinese consul in Aden , and by the Corporation Eng. Mohammed Abdullwasa Mohammed - GM of Aden Co. for Ports Development, Mr. Ahmed Muthana Ahmed Al-Ammari - GM of Planning, Marketing and Information , Captain / Shakeeb Mohammed Abdul Wahid – GM of Marine Operations – Harbour Master. It was also attended by representatives of Middle East Shipping Co. Ltd (Agents of the shipping line in Yemen)
