His Excellency, the Minister of Transport Mr. Ahmed Al-Gabwani and the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of YGAPC, Dr. Mohammed Alawi, Amzerbah held a meeting on Sunday morning, 04/08/2019, which is the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corporation after a break because of the war of the Houthi militias. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister of Transport to discuss the topics on the agenda and for the adoption of a number of resolutions which are the approval of the purchase and supply of a marine tug with a load capacity of not less than 65 tons at an estimated cost of US $ 8 million, Maintenance of the tug "Wadi Hateeb" by the manufacturer with an amount of 2.5 million US dollars, Purchase and supply of two mooring boats with an amount of a million US dollars in addition to other important topics related to the performance of the Corporation during the past and subsequent years. The Minister praised the leadership of the Corporation represented by the Executive Chairman and the staff of the port in the management of the Corporation and its contribution to the national economy in order to contribute to the development of security and facilitate the services and needs of citizens of exports and imports. At the end of the meeting, the members of the Board of Directors of the port stressed the need for the Council to continue to meet periodically. It is worth mentioning that these capital projects will achieve a qualitative leap in the management of the port during the coming period, especially in these circumstances that our country is going through as the port of Aden is the main port serving the Republic of Yemen.
