Maintenance of the Floating 30 tons Crane

As part of the maintenance program implemented by the Technical Department of the Corporation, a team of specialized engineers are carrying the maintenance of the floating marine crane with a capacity of 30 tons, by docking it on the slipway for the maintenance of the hull (structure) of the corroded crane and this by cleaning the body using sandblast (a sandblasting machine) to clean the body from marine growth, as well as replacing the damaged steel sheets from the hull of the crane with new ones, and after that, the marine coating and painting are done, as well as the zing anodes for the cathodic protection of the hull is replaced.

The floating crane is one of the oldest marine craft still maintained and preserved by the Corporation. The crane was manufactured in 1964 and is still working until now with high efficiency, due to the periodic and continuous maintenance by the technical department in the Corporation.

The crane performs several tasks and functions, including installing marine and navigational buoys, maintaining floating marine facilities, and transporting equipment from ships as requested by shipping companies.
