A special training course for marine traffic officers of the Ports of Aden, Mukalla, Nishtun and the Yemeni Coast Guard was concluded today, Sunday, March 14, 2021 ,at the Maritime Training Center under the patronage of the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime UNODC in coordination and cooperation with Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation, which was held for five days during which Participants have earned valuable lessons and information about the VTS system used in ports.
The importance of the system lies in tracking ship traffic and securing navigational safety in a limited geographical area. Eng. Abdulrab Al-Khulaqi, Deputy Chairman of YGAPC, Captain Adel Mahmoud Ali Shamsan, the General Manager of the Maritime Training Center, Captain Shakib Abdul Wahid, the Port officer, and the course lecturer, Mr. Stefan, distributed certificates to the participants of the training course, wishing them success and excellence in their career.
