Dhow "Naser Al Islam" on the port's main slipway for repairs

On Thursday, August 3, 2023, work was done to dock the Dhow (Naser Al-Islam) on the main slipway of the technical department of the Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation. The work was successfully achieved under the leadership of Maintenance Manager, Eng. Muhammad Saleh, and under the direct supervision of Deputy Director of the Technical Department, Mr. Nasser Talib, as well as all the workers of the technical department, each within the framework of his competence, who made tremendous efforts, for which they are grateful for their assumption of this responsibility.

The Executive Chairman of the Corporation Dr. Muhammad Amzraba, and his Deputy Eng, Abdul Rab Al-Khulaqui, in following up and facilitating all work in order to raise the status of the port of Aden. Naser Al-Islam Dhow has a loading capacity of 280 tons, and is 34 meters long, 10.5 meters wide, and 5.4 meters depth.

The aim of docking is that it does not sink in the navigational channel in the port as a result of its exposure to an accident that led to cracks in the entire hull from the middle at the level of the sides and the bottom, with the propulsion and steering system being exposed to damage to the feather and the population.

 

The works that will be done are:

- Repairing the damaged body and rebuilding.

- Complete inspection of the fiberglass hull.

- Repair damage the damage of the propellers.

- Coating and disembarking the dhow.
