The Minister of Transport Visits Ma’alla Wharves

The Minister of Transport Mr. Saleh Al-Gabwani paid a field visit today to the Wharves and Yards of Ma’alla terminal. He was received by the Executive Chairman of YGAPC, Mr. Mohammed Alawi Amzerba with a number of officials and the security of Ma’alla Terminal. During the field visit, the Minister of Transport listened to a brief overview of Aden port activity. He also reviewed the level of readiness of the port to receive international humanitarian relief and the capacity to store relief and commercial materials in the quays and squares of Ma'ala. Amzerbah spoke about the advantages and facilities provided by the Port of Aden for all shipping companies and international shipping lines, Major importers, local traders and foreign investors. For his part, the Minister of Transport praised the efforts made by the Port leadership represented by the Executive Chairman to restore the role of the port in a record time and overcome the difficulties despite the damage of some of its facilities as a result of the brutal aggression by the Houthi militias against the city of Aden. The port of Aden witnessed a growing movement of cargo discharged , which reached during the last three months of 2019 million, seventy-eight thousand and six hundred and forty-five metric tons of foodstuffs, building materials, livestock and general cargo and for the year of 2018, four million, four hundred and nine thousand and four hundred thirty five metric tons of food, building materials, livestock and general cargo were discharged.
