The Port of Aden officially inaugurated today the shipping line / Cosco / with the arrival of the Chinese Container Ship “COSCO ANTWERP” directly to the Port of Aden after a suspend of three years
At his word , the Minister of Transport considered that the return of the shipping line / Cosco / represents a great importance to the partnership between the Ministry and the private sector .. stressing the importance of economic integration with the Chinese Government in the sectors of transport . The Minister pointed out that the container handling rates at ACT continues to rise along with the noticed rise in revenue. The Minister of Transport expressed the willingness of the Ministry to provide investment facilities in the field of transport .. pointing to the launch of new flights from Aden during the months of May and June . For his part, Secretary-General of the local council of the Government of Aden Mr. Abdul-Karim Shaif expressed his happiness for the return of the shipping lines to the container port in Aden .. stressing the readiness of the local authority in the governorate to provide support and assistance in this aspect . The GM of Middle East Branch Co. Ltd. Mr. Ali Moh’d Al-Mukhaddri clarified that the shipping line / Cosco / will make a weekly service from China to the Port of Aden .. pointing to the arrival of four ships with ten thousand TEUs to the Container Terminal in Aden . He added that Cosco will be one of the largest shipping lines operating at the Port in Aden . The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Deputy Governor of Aden Mr. / Ahmed Salem Rubaia Ali, Deputy Chairman at YGAPC Eng. / Abdullah Moh’d Fudhail, GM of Aden Co. for Ports Development Eng. / Moh’d Abdul Wasa and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Aden Mr.Mohammed Omar Bamashmoos.
