Aden Ports Development Company has began container storage yard expansion at the Aden Container Terminal which comes in line with the steady increase of the imported containers at the Port of Aden
, the only Sea Gateway in the Republic of Yemen that is ready and capable to receive and handle container ships.
The area of 25,000 square meter at the west side of the existing container yard which is situated in the allocated area for Phase 2 expansion project will be paved and prepared for creating an additional yard storage capacity of 2000 TEU.
The container yard expansion will help in mitigating the current yard congestion that comes due to the increase in the number of handling containers, which covers around 90% of the current container yard storage area.
The storage yard expansion comes in line with company development plans in supporting terminal with adequate yard handling equipment to improve terminal productivity and handling rates.
