The Minister of Transport inaugurates the new pilot boat into service

The Minister of Transport, Dr. / Waed Badeeb inaugurated this morning the new pilot boat named "Gulf of Aden" officially into service in the Port of Aden in the presence of the Governorate Deputy Mr. Ahmed Salem Rubia Ali, the Executive Chairman of the Corporation Captain/ Sami Saeed Farea and his deputy, Engineer / Abdullah Fudail

The pilot boat has arrived the Port of Aden in November 2012 to join the shipping fleet operating in the port, which in turn will contribute to strengthening the operational capacity and improve the level of services in the Port of Aden. The boat was manufactured by an Irish company with a total cost of Euros 1,630,973. The boat has been built with modern technical specifications , high endurance and ability to execute the required maneuvers. The length of the boat is (16.5)meters with an engine power of 1500 HP.

The Minister of Transport has also inaugurated yesterday Nass Eritrean Airlines to begin its first direct flights to and from Aden International Airport with two flights per week. He also paid an inspection visit to Aden Container Terminal, accompanied by the Executive Chairman of the Corporation to oversight the progress of work at the terminal and conduct of cargo handling of (APL, PIL) shipping lines.
