Aden Port Returns to Pre-War Shipping Procedures

The Yemen Ministry of Transport (MOT) in Aden and the Evacuation and Humanitarian Operations Cell (EHOC) in Riyadh have agreed to reinstate shipping procedures to pre-war arrangements. Additionally, the MOT has announced that the list of prohibited imported commodities, which was imposed in 2017, is no longer applicable. This development signifies a significant shift in the shipping policies and import regulations in Yemen, particularly at the Port of Aden. The agreement and the lifting of the import restrictions are expected to have a substantial impact on the flow of essential goods and humanitarian aid into the country. This decision comes in the wake of efforts to normalize shipping operations and facilitate the unimpeded free-flow of commercial items through verification and inspection mechanisms, amid the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Yemen
