September 4, 2025

On the evening of September 4, 2025, the Port of Aden received the sailing yacht Erquy, arriving from France under the command of New Zealand adventurer Captain Allan Seymour. The vessel’s journey included passage through the Suez Canal and a stop at Jeddah Port in Saudi Arabia before docking in Aden for resupply, maintenance, and provisioning. The yacht is scheduled to continue its voyage onward to Sri Lanka.

The Erquy measures approximately 16 meters in length and 5 meters in width.

The leadership of the Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation affirmed that hosting such maritime journeys reflects the port’s navigational significance, as well as its security, stability, and streamlined services for yachts and private vessels. All procedures were completed swiftly and smoothly, ensuring a comfortable experience for visitors to the Port of Aden—solidifying its reputation as a preferred stopover for regional and international sea crossings.

The arrival of sailing yachts like Erquy reaffirms that the Port of Aden remains open, secure, and accessible to international maritime routes. It continues to offer comprehensive services that reinforce its role as a pivotal service port in the region, echoing its historic legacy.
