This morning, by the grace of God, the tugboat "Mayun" was placed on the slipway for essential maintenance. This initiative was carried out under the directives of Dr. Mohammed Alawi Amzarbah, Executive Chairman Yemen Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation. The process was executed and overseen by Mr. Nasser Talib, General Manager of the Technical Department, and his deputy, Engineer Mohammed Saleh, with the dedicated efforts of the department’s engineers, technicians, and workers. This significant step ensures the continued efficiency of the port’s marine units and strengthens their capacity to support maritime traffic.
Docking"Mayun" is a critical phase in maintaining its technical condition. The maintenance work performed will extend the tug's operational lifespan and minimize the risk of mechanical failures, ensuring it remains fully prepared to assist ships with maneuvering, berthing, and departure operations. Such maintenance is vital, as the operational readiness of tugboats is directly linked to the safety of vessels and berths, as well as the seamless delivery of marine services at the port.
This operation highlights the leadership and executive role of the Technical Department. The expertise and field efforts contributed by its engineers, technicians, and workers form the foundation for preserving the Corporation’s assets. Behind the readiness of every marine unit lies continuous engineering and technical work, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility among the workforce—a process that integrates practical knowledge, precise execution, and a steadfast commitment to operational safety.
These efforts underscore the value of the national workforce and their pivotal role in sustaining the port’s ongoing operations. Their contribution is not limited to repairing malfunctions; it extends to maintaining the operational capacity of marine units. Consequently, supporting these teams and recognizing their efforts is a fundamental component of enhancing institutional performance.
This undertaking underscores the importance of dedicating the necessary attention to the maintenance and care of marine assets—an investment in the Port of Aden’s ability to continue providing services with efficiency and reliability. We also extend our appreciation to the technical leadership, engineers, technicians, and workers who contributed to the execution of docking (vessel-hauling) process.
