The arrival of the new recently purchased Kalmar tractors has contributed to a significant improvement in the handling rates at the container terminal in the Port of Aden which coincides with the arrival of the Holy Month of Ramadan, witnessing an increase in the number of imported and exported containers. The new fleet of 12 terminal tractors are able of towing two containers with a total capacity of 80 tons, which contribute to raising the service and handling rates up to about 60%. It is worth mentioning that the container terminal management is currently preparing to sign a contract for the purchase and supply of 12 trailers in line with international standards. The management of the terminal in the port of Aden seeks to modernize the superstructure of the terminal that includes the modernization of handling equipment which will be self-financed. The timed plans and strategies for this purpose have been developed to equip the terminal with new equipment and enable it to play its role as the main port for importing and exporting various goods.
