The Prime Minister visits the Port of Aden

The Prime Minister Mr.Ahmed Obeid Bin Daghar visited the wharves and yards of the Port of Aden on Wednesday, 18 April 2018, and was briefed on the work of the port in receiving goods and foodstuff as well as its important commercial activities. He was received upon his arrival by the Executive Chairman of YGAPC Mr. Mohammed Alawi Amzerbah ,and directors and staff of the Corporation. The Prime Minister listened to a brief explanation on the commercial activity of the port and the services it provides, from arranging the entry of ships for cargo, unloading, warehousing and many other services. The Executive Chairman clarified that during the past three months, one million metric tons of various foodstuffs were unloaded, which shows an increase compared with the three million metric tons being unloaded in 2017. The Prime Minister directed the officials of the port to facilitate the entry of foodstuffs and redouble efforts to alleviate the suffering of the citizens caused by the Huthi militia after its coup against the state in 2014. He praised the support provided by Saudi Arabia to rehabilitate Yemeni ports , stressing that the government has directed to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid through the ports located in the liberated governorates and transfer it to all governorates of the Republic without exception.
